InSync™ Lock Series Launched at NAA 2006

Denver, CO - Thursday, June 15, 2006 - SAFLOK® today unveiled its complete line of the InSync™ electronic lock series and its operating system.

InSync M-Class (mortise lock), L-Class (tubular latch lock), I-Class (interconnected lock), and C-Class (common area locks) were launched in an exclusive press conference held at the National Apartment Association (NAA) 2006 Education Conference & Exhibition.

This unveiling follows the InSync D-Class launch, which was held last June at NAA 2005. D-Class has since received overwhelming market response and is enjoying exceptional popularity as the preferred electronic lock option.

According to Dale Mathias, vice president of sales – multihousing, government & institutional, “Security is a high priority for residents who are in the market for an apartment home. Market research confirms that residents place great importance on security as a “must have” feature, perhaps even higher than they would a heated pool, a club house, or covered parking.”

“The InSync locks are essentially building blocks that can work together or independently for property managers to create that secure and safe environment that residents may call home,” comments SAFLOK director of marketing, Glenn Peacock.

The complete InSync set-up includes the SAM® (Security Access Manager) RF (radio frequency) proprietary operating system, the RFID (radio frequency identification) key, and the key encoder which is used to make the keys. Each key is programmed with a code that creates a unique credential, which in turn communicates with the lock “telling it” to allow or deny access. Communication between lock and key is transmitted via a radio frequency platform.

The locks on display have been designed to address each unique application within various multihousing building designs and are available in both suite and unit configurations.

While the locks function interchangeably, there are some building designs for which each is more suited. For example, the M-Class lock is ideal for use in unit doors while the L-Class is more suitable for multiple resident and employee only access areas. InSync I-Class, which provides a single motion egress convenience is suited for use in suite doors, addressing certain building code requirements. C-Class products include numerous common area locks that work in conjunction with operable sliding glass doors, garage doors, parking arms, and iron gates.
